Evelyn Barras Hollier



Evelyn Barras Hollier was a seafood worker who lived in Biloxi, Mississippi. Evelyn was born on November 12, 1907 in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana, she came from a rich Cajun heritage which she carried with her throughout her life. From a young age, Evelyn was employed as a seafood worker for various factories including Southern Shell. She married Lucien “Blanc” Hollier, the couple lived together at the Southern Shell camp until Lucien and several of his friends worked to construct a house on Fountain St.

Hollier continued working at Southern Shell up until her death on February 17, 1970, at the age of 62.
