The BERNIE PAT was owned by Bernard Senseney, Sr. of Biloxi. The 43-foot wooden Biloxi lugger was captained by Mr. Senseney and was a key contributor of shrimp to the annual Shrimp Festival in Biloxi.
Each year, during the Blessing of the Fleet, a wooden model of the BERNIE PAT would be carried into the church by the reigning Shrimp King and be placed on the altar during the celebration of Mass.
